CAÑAR.- Situado al noroeste de la provincial del Cañar. Posee toda la riqueza arqueológica y los vestigios de la historia del pueblo cañari. El 26 de enero del 2001, consiguió la denominación de “Capital Arqueológica del Ecuador”, pues aquí se encuentra el Complejo Arqueológico de Ingapirca, convertido en el centro de atracción de estudio de la historia y de turistas.
